(1) Adjust pressure bit by bit within limit, and harden tablet in a proper way.
(2) For prevention of repeated feeding, see No.5.
(3) Frequently keep lubricating. It is necessary to disassemble and repair immediately in case of severe abrasion or seizure.
(4) For adjusting belt, see Article 3 ofcautions in use.

(6) Vigorously hard-operate tablet when motor start or upper punch passing through the lowest point.

2 Out-of-run General out-of-run Friction surface of each moving member is deficient in lubrication, dirtied, rusty, outworn, and bad in fit.
 
Frequently inspect each machine member, and keep them clean and smooth (for details, see Article 1 oflubrication and maintenance). Immediately repair bad member in case of machine deteriorated or damaged.
Lower punch became heavy or blocked while going up. (1) Resistance in tablet-out is increased because of unsmooth or worn die surface, or inappropriate ingredient-making which makes powder adhesive to punch and die surface.
(2) Lifting cam has been seriously worn or dirtied.
(3) Inappropriate adjustment makes friction between lower punch mandrel while rising and die.
 
(1) Inspect die and repair or replace die or make ingredient-making again in case of die sticking.
(2) Inspect and repair to keep them clean and smooth.
(3) Pay attention to concentricity between lower punch and die in adjustment.
3 Vibration Abnormal vibration (1) Machine member and screw become flexible.
(2) Strongly wear and tear machine member
(3) Friction surface is deficient in lubrication or dirtied.
(2) For frequent inspection, see Article 2 of lubrication maintenance.
(3) Frequently inspect and promptly replace the worn machine member.
(4) Frequently inspect sanitation and lubrication of each friction surface, especially the dirty place where it is not easy to find. Working load is the most important friction surface between main shaft and eccentric wheel.
4 Abrasion Quick abrasion or even burn-out of friction surface between main shaft and hole Deficient in lubrication or dirtied Frequently keep them clean and smooth, using clean and pure lubricating oil.

Quick abrasion of groove of lifting cam or feeding cam In addition to all of the above, it further includes (1) Inappropriate ingredient-making or unsmooth die surface result in die sticking, which will result in quick abrasion by increasing resistance in tablet-out and load in groove of lifting cam.
(2) Lifting roller can’t rotate for compact match or rust.
(3) feeder bottom and die platen is deficient in lubrication or abhesive to powder to increase resistance.
(1) Inspect die, and repair or replace die or make ingredient-making again in case of die sticking.
(2) Disassembly and repair.
(3) Improve lubrication between feeder and die platen, or promptly clean feeder bottom. Replace feeding cam which has been seriously worn.
Quick abrasion of die surface (1) Inappropriate adjustment will rub upper punch and die.
(2) Inappropriate ingredient-making, including less lubricating materials and cruder powder.
(1) Separately adjust.
(2) Re-handle medicinal materials.
5 Feeder damaged Knock against lower punch (1) Inappropriate tablet-out adjustment, and lower punch higher than die plane.
(2) Loose lower punch setscrew, and lower punch higher than die plane.
If screw is loosened when assembling and adjusting die, immediately press die to the bottom and screw setscrew.
Knock against die Loose die setscrew, and lower punch higher than die platen plane. As above
Knock against upper punch (1) Reversion in adjustment will cause collision.
(2) Upper punch mandrel in too low position will knock against handwheel.
Caution in adjustment
6 Different die discharging Upper plunger, lower plunger or die can’t get out of hole. (1) Size of die or die hole of tablet press is unqualified and tightened.
(2) Mating surface will get rusty.
(1) Immediately repair or replace in case of tight fit.
(2) Wipe mating surface out and cover a layer of oil film in assembly. Disassemble die and wipe mating surface out for a long time, and coat rust-preventative oil for storage.
7 Overlapping tablet Compact into one tablet after twice feeding. Before pushing tablet out, reverse handwheel to make feeder repeat feeding and result in overlapping tablet. (1) No reversion in adjustment.
(2) Slowly reverse handwheel to push tablet out when repeatedly feed but not yet produce overlapping tablet, wipe repeated feed out and push tablet out. If overlapping tablet has been compacted and pushed, treatment after push shall be performed. (see Article 1 of cautions in use)
8 Jumping tablet and broken tablet Jumping or broken, tablet is pressed out. (1) Inappropriate tablet-out adjustment. And lower punch lower than die plane, will block tablet out in jumping or broken form.
(2) Loosen die setscrew and rise die to block tablet out.
(1) Adjust lower punch to make lower punch up to the top and level with die plane.
(2) Adjust die and set screw.
9 Rough tablet and torn tablet The periphery of the table pulled out of die is scraped to make tablet broken. (1) Unqualified die finish or worn and scraped table periphery, or even unsmooth table-out will make tablet broken.
(2) Inappropriate ingredient-making results in die sticking, whick will produce rough tablet or torn tablet.
(10 Replace die (Note: the other side of the die can be reversibly used when one side is worn.).
(2) Re-handle medicinal materials.
10 Unsmooth tablet Pock, concave pit, and cover outside the tablet (1) Unsmooth punch surface.
(2) Inappropriate ingredient-making.
(1) Repair and replace punch.
(2) Re-handle medicinal materials.
11 Loosened tablet Inadequate tablet hardness, loosening, frangibility and springing, etc. (1) Inadequate pressure.
(2) Inappropriate ingredient-making.
(1) Pressure adjustment (see Article 4 in Die assembly and disassembly & tabletting adjustment).
(2) Re-handle medicinal materials.
12 Unsteady tablet weight Excessive difference in tablet weight (1) Loose lower punch setscrew, rise lower punch and reduce filling amount.
(2) Loose wing screw, rotate lower adjustment wheel, and change filling amount.
(3) Irregular tightness and size of tablet.
(1) Press lower punch to the bottom and tighten lower punch setscrew.
(2) Newly adjust and fasten.
(3) Caution in ingredient-making, especially in milling and stressing broken tablet.
13 Upper punch inaccessible into die Upper punch has different shaft from die hole. (1) Die platen is dislocated.
(2) Upper punch is defectively installed.
(1) Unloosen die platen setscrew and rotate handwheel to make upper punch slowly down to die hole. Adjust the place where die platen is fixed to ensure no collision or friction when upper punch enters die, and then screw die platen setscrew.
(2) Unscrew upper punch set nut to rotate upper plunger at any angle, and then screw upper punch set nut, afterwards repeat the first step until appropriately.
