Brief Introduction to Wet Granulation Technology

- Wednesday, July 3, 2019

Wet granulation is a method in which a liquid adhesive is added to powder, and the powder is agglomerated by bridging or bonding of the adhesive to prepare granules. This method can improve the fluidity, compressibility and content uniformity of the premix. The wet granulation product has the most extensive application in the pharmaceutical industry because of its beautiful appearance, good fluidity, strong wear resistance and great compression formability.

1. Wet granulation makes particles have good fluidity, making it easy to automate, continuously and quantitatively in the transportation, packaging and filling of drugs;

2. This granulation method can prevent the separation phenomenon caused by the difference in particle size and density, which is favorable for uniform mixing of various components;

3. It can effectively prevent the dust during the operation to avoid environmental pollution and loss of raw materials.

With the development of the pharmaceutical industry, the requirements for pharmaceutical processes are becoming higher and higher, so wet granulation, a more efficient and environmentally safe method, is widely used. Therefore, research on technology and research and development of related equipment have also received attention from the pharmaceutical industry.

  • Granulator Machines:

Wet granulators can be used to develop wet powders into the desired granules, as well as comminuted dry granules to the desired granules. This kind of machine is mainly composed of the fuselage, the pellet manufacturing device, the screen clamp tube, the reduction gear box, the machine seat motor and the like, which has the advantages of convenient disassembly and easy cleaning. In addition, the mechanical transmission system is completely enclosed in the body to ensure the safety of the granulation process.
